Setting up the Dynamic Link folders Every Web site you set up to use dynamic content needs to have access to four special folders inside the Dynamic Link Config folder you place on your Web server. Make sure you have the Config folder properly installed on the root of your Web server. The folders include: The Actions folder Contains files that make it possible to update, delete, or edit records in an online database using a Web-based front end; or control a shopping cart. The Databases folder Contains the files you want to use as sources of dynamic content on your Web site, including Access, Oracle SQL Server, and ODBC database files. .udl links to Oracle SQL Server and ODBC database files should be placed here instead of the actual database files themselves. The Include folder Contains files containing ASP code that is used by Adobe Dynamic Link on the pages you create so that the pages can support dynamic content. The Info folder Stores pages that let Adobe GoLive obtain information about the databases and other content sources installed at your Web site. It also contains files describing available text filters, form actions, filters, and the user interface for these items. These four folders contain snippets of code, databases, and other items required for a site to use dynamic content technology successfully. Note: For security, disable HTTP read permissions for the Config/databases folder. This prevents anyone on the Web from downloading your databases. Place the entire Config folder containing these folders on the root of your Web server. You can find it in Dynamic Link/Server Pages/asp inside the Adobe GoLive folder. For additional help on installing files or folders or setting permissions on your Web server, please consult with the system administrator, IS staff of your network, or ISP.
